“An Anxious And Worried Mind” ….

Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Chapter 12: Why Worrying Will Get You NoWhere But Making Yourself  Sick…..

I want to share something with y’all before I begin with Joyce Meyer’s study. I am currently doing another study on my own called Confident Heart by Renee Swope it just so happens what she had written in chapter 9 “when doubts whispers I can’t stop worrying” coincides with Joyce Meyer’s study and I would love to share with y’all my experience with worry.

Let me be honest with y’all there was a time back in my younger years when I was known as Miss Worrier Wart but as life hit me from every angle I learned what Renee Swope learned Worrying does not change one single thing!

All it does is make you more bonkers than what you already was before the whole what if game started playing in your head. Before you know it you got yourself all twisted up like pretzel, your now beyond stressed and your feeling like a complete mess because you can not solve whatever it is you trying to solve. So what good does it do to worry when in reality all you’re doing is making yourself coo coo and sick?

Now for myself I went from one extreme to another I took my over worrying to not caring at all because I felt no matter how hard I try to solve things, fix things, contemplate things it never helped my situation one bit! Life is life things will happen no matter what I try to do, so why even bother was my attitude.

The things I could do something about I did and the things I couldn’t do anything about well I let life take its course on those things. Now this is not to say I don’t panic sometimes because I do but I do not go into frantic over worrying crazy mode no more! I have well learned it’s not worth it at all!

But here’s the most amazing thing when I meet God two years ago like I said if I was in a jam I panic but not worry, well my hubby back then would tell me not to worry God’s got it just sit back and relax.

Well I thought he was just plain crazy! In my mind I was thinking how in the world is God going to fix this? But see back then I did not know God and what He could do so when my hubby would tell me this and I saw how he was not worry one bit that made me panic even more. But my husband reassured me that God will take care of whatever it is we needed.

So there I was two years ago not sure how in the world God would fix things but one thing I did know for sure was worrying about it and making myself sick was not going to help either, so I choose to give it to God and see what He will do next. And guess what? By george He sure did take care of every little thing that I started to panic about.

In these two short little years God has shown me over and over again and again if you give whatever’s got your pretty little head worrying about to Him you will find peace and He will no doubt solve the problem for you! PRAISE GOD!

He’s just that awesome! There is nothing and I mean nothing that God can and will do for you if you just trust Him to be the driver for you in your life in every situation and I mean every situation! I always remind myself that I am too blessed to be stressed let God take care if it.

In Joyce Meyer’s book she tell us that: ” it is absolutely impossible to worry and live in peace at the same time.” And I agree with her one-hundred percent!

In Matthew 6:25 ” We are being taught that there is nothing in this life that we are to worry about-not any aspect of it! The quality of life that God has provided for us is great enough to provide all of things we need, but if we worry about things, then we lose them as well as the life He intended us to have.” Joyce Meyer

So what are we to do? Listen to God: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. (CJB)

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may lift you up. Throw all your anxieties upon Him, because He cares about you. (CJB)

Psalm 37:3 Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed. (AMP)

Before I closed I know and understand one-hundred percent how hard it can be not to worry about things, people or our situations but we have a God who will and can work all things out for us.

It may not be the way we like or wanted things to turn out the way they do, but we got to trust God in knowing that He knows what He is doing! We can not let our flesh be the rulers of our lives but God! God Bless To All….

  1. Oh Sweetie, it is a challenge to not worry…we almost seem wired for it. I’ve read both of these books and they are “keepers”, I will keep them to re-read again in the future. I think we need to each find that verse that speaks to us and keep it in front of us at all times. Worry and anxiety can consume us and affect those who are dearest to us. I feel like it will be a lifelong challenge to “re-wire my brain to seek God instead choosing to worry over a problem that only He can resolve. Love reading your blog. Thank you for your words.
