Before I restart this study I want to personally apologize to everyone for just disappearing. My computer had gotten a virus in it and I couldn’t get into my Blog. By the grace of God I finally got it fixed and now I am back.
I want to thank everyone who reads this Blog for being understanding of the circumstances and it’s in my deepest prayers that you will continue to take this journey with me in Jesus as we grow together.
Chapter 11: “A Doubtful And Unbelieving Mind…”
Joyce Myers tells us that “we usually talk about doubt and unbelief together as if they are one and the same. Actually although they can be connected, the two are very different.”
So I ask myself what is the difference between doubt and unbelief?
I did a search online to see what these two words mean at http://av1611.com/kjbp/kjv-dictionary
1.) To waver or fluctuate in opinion; to hesitate; to be in suspense; to be in uncertainty; to be in suspense; to be in uncertainty, respecting the truth or fact; to be undetermined.
2.) To fear; to be apprehensive; to suspect
1.) In the New Testament, disbelief of the truth of the gospel, rejection of Christ as the Savior of men, and of the doctrines He taught; distrust of God’s promises and faithfulness, &c. Matt. 13. Mark 16. Heb. 3. Rom. 4.
2.) Weak faith.
“Doubt comes in the form of thoughts that are in opposition to the Word of God. This is why it is so important for us to know the Word of God. If we know the Word, then we can recognize when the devil is lying to us. Be assured that he lies to us in order to steal what Jesus purchased for us through His death and resurrection.” Joyce Myers
“Remember that unbelief leads to disobedience. Unbelief like doubt will keep us from doing what God has called and anointed us to accomplish in life. It will also keep us from experiencing the sense of peace that He wants us to enjoy as we find rest in our souls in Him.” Joyce Myers
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (NKJ)
In Joyce Myers book she tells us that we have to live from faith to faith.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17
We need to learn to live by faith and “to make the decision to believe God and not the devil!”
We have to stop living from faith to doubt to unbelief and around and around we go.
Remember, according to James 1:7-8
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (NKJ)
Here’s another translation: A person who has doubts shouldn’t expect to receive anything from the Lord. A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can’t make up his mind about anything. (GW)
Remember “God has a great life planed for you. Don’t let the devil steal it from you through lies!” Joyce Myers
Instead: refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) 2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP)
I want to leave you with some questions from Joyce Myers workbook:
1.) According to Romans 12:3, what does God give every man?
2.) Discover within Matthew 21:21 what the disciples would be able to do if they had faith and did not doubt.
Please feel free to share your answers in the comments section and if there’s anything else God puts on your heart from this study please do share. God Bless To All…
