For the last two weeks Made To Crave has been a Bible study I have been doing with the ladies over at http://proverbs31.org/ and what a journey it has been so far. Please stop by their site and check out all the great Bible studies they have to offer and coming up.
So today is week two of their Blog Hop Thursday that they do where we have to choose one of these topics:
1. #Determination ~ How does this week’s word help you?
2. 1 Peter 5:7-8a ~ Unpack our scripture for the week and share with us what you learned. Use verse mapping as an optional study tool. (Click here to learn more about verse mapping from our awesome friend Heather Bleier or copy the following into your browser: http://bit.ly/11j4zW2)
3. Sweet Place of Breakthrough ~ Share a personal victory you have experienced in the past (pg. 44).
4. Identity Statements ~ Write a list of statements that describe you as God sees you (RQ 4, pg. 56).
I choose number 4
As some of you may now it has been almost three years now since I been walking with God and what journey it has been for me!
Before I gave myself to Christ I was lost and a broken mess that no one and not even myself could fix. It would take Jesus to mend, repair and heal what the world and I had done to my soul.
Thirty-four and half years of believing the lies I told myself and others had told me about myself:
I was the drug addict
I was the alcoholic
I was the prostitute
I was the victim and always be the victim
I was the girl and the women who was raped, beaten and discarded like a rag doll
I was worthless, no good, broken, unloved, uncared for and unwanted
I was the fat girl/women, ugly, stupid and every man’s toy to do as they please with me
I was a big fat good for nothing nobody that was who I was
But aw isn’t it funny and not in ha ha way but in a ironic way how when Jesus gets a hold of you and opens your eyes to the truth and expose the lies you been believing about yourself you begin to see: Who I was is not who I am in Christ now!
Please without further due let me introduce you to the woman God has called me to be and who I am!
I am a Child of God’s John 1:12, Romans 8:14-16, and Galatians 4:4-6
I am the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13)
I am the light of the world (Matt. 5:14)
I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ’s life (John 15:1,5)
I am Christ’s friend (John 15:15)
I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit (John 15:16)
I am a slave of righteousness (Romans 6:18)
I am enslaved to God (Romans 6:22)
I am a son of God; God is spiritually my Father (Rom. 8:14,15; Gal. 3:26, 4:6)
I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him (Rom. 8:17)
I am a temple ‐‐ a dwelling place ‐‐ of God. His Spirit and His life dwell in me (1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19)
I am united to the Lord and I am one spirit with Him (1 Cor. 6:17)
I am a member of Christ’s body (1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 5:30)
I am a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17)
I am reconciled to God and I am a minister of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18, 19)
I am a son of God and one in Christ (Gal. 3:26, 28)
I am a saint (Eph. 1:1; 1 Cor. 1:2; Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:2)
I am God’s workmanship ‐‐ His handiwork ‐‐ born anew in Christ to do His work (Eph. 2:10)
I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved (Col. 3:12; 1 Thess. 1:4)
And my dear sister’s in Christ the list can go on and on of just who we are in Christ!
This is My Dear Sister’s In Christ who we are and not what we tell ourselves, the media, or others, but what God says and tells us who we are! That’s the truth and that’s what we need to hold onto and grasp onto for dear life!
There are two songs that are just my absolute favorite songs to remind me I am not who I was but who I am now in Christ:
Always remember we are Children’s of God: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:36 God Bless To All…..
