The Respect Dare

Day 4: Vision

With all honesty if you would’ve asked me this question two years ago you would’ve of gotten some unkind words from me about this question and God! Two years ago I was lost big time! I didn’t know who God was, if God exist and if He did well I had a bone to pick with Him! I was beyond angry with God!

But if you have come to know God like I have then you will know that God has His ways to get to you. You can try to run from Him all you want, but there is no hiding from God at all! I found this out on July 4 of 2011 when I had it out with Him in a bathroom and He made Himself known to me. My life would never be the same after this, and boy I didn’t know how much it would change.

Now here I am officially two years later and WOW, is all I can say. I didn’t know or could have even envisioned what has happen in my life so far. Living in a world for so long without God a vision for my life didn’t even seem possible. But now I’m starting to see it is possible for God to have a vision all ready planed for my life.

Everyday spent with God is another day God gives me a little more of a glimpse of just what that vision is He has for me. Sometimes I feel God must have had the wrong person, but I’m starting to know that He doesn’t. All I got to do is get my big granny panties and put them on, put my trust in the Lord and march bravely into His visions for me.Sometimes this isn’t as easy as it sounds, but He will give you the strength to do what it is He has called you to do.

In Nina Roesner book she say’s “He has a specific purposes in mind that you were specially created to breathe life into for His people and His Glory.” WOW! Who would have thunk it that I would bring Glory to God and for His people, certainly not I that is for sure.

Another thing Nina say’s is “if you are married, one purpose for your life is to become Holy within the context of your marriage, shining His light to the world.” I remember when God first revealed this to me I didn’t understand just what He meant.

Me Holy, yeah okay was my thought. Me a light for others, yeah okay was my thought again. But now I get it and I’m seeing first hand how this can happen when you work with Him. People around you start to notice things changing within you.

And they begin to want to know why? And that’s when you get to give all the credit to the one who deserves all of  it to God! So yes without a doubt in my mind I can see clearly now that God does has a vision for my life!

Were asked to use the assessment we did for Dare 3, “write a positive purpose statement in the present tense, describing how and who you intend to be in four months.” “We are to keep them positive, avoiding “I’m no longer”, “I’m not”, or” I don’t” statements.”Write about two hundred words, being as descriptive as possible.” Here’s what I wrote as an example:

I am a woman who fights her problems with prayer day and night if that is what it takes. I come to my Lord boldly with my hearts desires knowing my Lord will answer all my prayers. My husband comes to me with great confidence to share the things that are very heavy on his heart, because he knows I will not fall apart on him.

Without a doubt in my mind I know my husband feels respected, because he tells me how much he appreciates me respecting him in all he does and says. I walk with great confidence because I know who my God is and what He can do for me. In my home there is peace because I know my happiness doesn’t depend on what my husband does or doesn’t do.

I spend my days in God’s loving arms embracing what He tells me. I look forward to my days with great joy, because I know it is Jesus Christ who is walking with me with every step that I make. I am confident that He will be there when I fall, to bring the healing and restoration to the depths of my soul.

My husband and my family without a word spoken from my lips will know without a doubt who rules in my life now, from the fruits of the Spirit that I displayed before them. I am a woman after God’s own heart!

When we were finish we was to rewrite it as a prayer and put it somewhere where we can see it at least once a day. “Begin the discipline of praying this statement as a daily prayer, from the heart, as you go through the remaining days of The Respect Dare.”  God Bless to all….

  1. Wow! I loved this blog today. I too have struggled with the idea of God having a purpose for my life. My thought was always, “who am I, I am not good enough, I don’t have enough of this or that to do what He wants me to do.” I was focused on me and my abilities and not on God and His promises. I love this statement, “People around you start to notice things changing within you. And they begin to want to know why? And that’s when you get to give all the credit to the one who deserves all of it to God!” People do notice the difference when we let God take control of our lives! It is amazing!

I haven’t been able to take the assessment in Day 3 (hopefully today). I will work on this assignment though. I know many areas in my life I need to change to benefit my marriage. Seeing the way you wrote it has inspired me and encouraged me to do the same and really focus on making those words true.

Love ya sis! Keep up the good fight!

    • Thank you SIS, I’m glad that through God that I am able to inspire you and encouraged you. It’s amazing what God can do for us once you lay your life down for him, I went from being not an inspiration to no one and now I inspire others to live there lives for God! God Bless 🙂

      • You are so right! He can do so much in our lives if we let Him. I am so blessed that you have done just that. Keep the inspiration coming! 🙂

  2. That is really attention-grabbing, You are an overly skilled blogger. I have joined your feed and sit up for searching for more of your wonderful post. Additionally, I’ve shared your website in my social networks!

  3. Enjoyed reading your article. My wife asks that we read as a couple. We want to know if you have some articles for husbands and that men sin as greatly as women. Men need more help sometimes. She gets upset by the abundance of articles for wives. She believes this we focus on women unfairly women.
I think she may have a point because men also have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Men were given the role as servant leader and should lead by example for their wives.

    • Thank you, I agree with your wife that there needs to be more articles for men. I myself have become frustrated by the overabundance help is out there for women but for men there is hardly anything for them. As of right now I do not have anything on my Blog and I am sorry that I can not help you. God Bless..
